PHASE 1 : VISUAL: WHAT DO YOU SEE?

PROJECT 1A - DRAW

Based on the observation, we were supposed to draw + visualize things that we see; according to our interest. We were required to do sketches and present them.

PROJECT 1B - IMPROVISE

In this project we were supposed to design a cover of a comic with a little twist in it. Design the new front cover according to the given title. The requirement of the project were Sketch proposals, sketchbook and presentation

PHASE 2 : MAKE + DO: HOW DO YOU DO IT?

PROJECT 2A - FUN[K]TIONAL MACHINE

We were required to design a machine, according to the functions given. This exercise challenged our understanding of making ideas through model making. The machine i chose to make was a brain washer. its a complex machine which was functional also been considerate with the space given . We were also required to do a presentation for our models after having tutorials with our lectures to completion.

PROJECT 2B - ENVIRONMENT (CONTINUATION)

In project 2b we were required to make a space for the model. It was a continuation from the previous task,we were to design a pop-up environment for the machine. I chose my research from the movie Texas massacre chainsaw, which helped me to complete my model.

PHASE 3 : IDEAS FOR HUMAN ACTIVITIES

PROJECT 3A - SPLISH, SPLASH…I’M TAKING A BATH!

This project was dealing with making a shelter on an island using the materials surrounding the area. We had to imagine that we are in an island and we need to make a toilet in case of an emergency for survival. Human activities require an understanding of behavior and actions. Observations of the activities need to be captured in order for the space to be function. We were required to take visual note taking style, make a model and present by the end of the week.

PROJECT 3B - SOLITARY SHELTER

We were to develop and produce a one-man space with specific functions and limited activity. The form and space were to maintain the identity and design language chosen. Given a selected situation and context to reflect the design direction with spatial manipulation to express its function. We had to come up with a research of how the person ended up in the island and also make the shelter where he/she is to habit and protect from danger. Also we were to make an activity that he/she does during the day time and also construct it in the model.
