PROJECT 1 : EXPLORE AND EXPRESS
The project deals with exploring objects, materials, inspiration and ideas. Creativity and this Exploration criteria are fundamental to become a strong part of developing the design idea. It connects the producer, designer and consumer and the final outcome shall be a COLLECTIVE EFFORT as in a design process.
The objective of this project is to:

Provide students an opportunity to explore and question ideas and its applications.

Create a platform for students to incorporate concept through materials in design thinking and ideas.

Ensure students be abreast with new development in technology and materials as is required of good designers and marry them with design functionality and aesthetics.
Task: Choosing one MATERIAL and doing a research, observation and manipulate.
To explore my findings on the material interested by analyzing the characteristics of the material and conduct experiments if necessary in order to fully understand its characteristics in depth. Display the experimentation result if applicable. Students need to explore, analyse and experiment with the material either compose using its raw/original condition or experiment with it to take a new life form.
PROJECT 2 : MOLD AND MEND
EXPANDING THE NEW LIFE FORM into FUNCTION Transform your aspiration from the Material Board into a 3-Dimensional space. Mould your design element into space that would be designed ergonomically for a purpose or function to the end user. Express your design approach and create an identity from exploration of expression. Produce a design outlook that represents a creative identity; distinguished skills and application. The outcome of the finding should be presented as a functional furniture or interactive feature display as method of submission.
The objectives of the project:

Students will begin to develop a 3 dimensional design thinking for suitable purpose and function of the new form derived from the experimenting of the selected material.

Combining the ideas and aspiration to create a new design identity with an aesthetic value to enrich the spatial design impact.
Learning outcome of the project:

Define space function and matrix in designing functional and compact space.
Task: Expanding and transforming the material board into a creative formation of a the design. A Thorough or dramatic change in form or appearance within the space given.
REFLECTION
In general, i learned to understanding the proposed project and the connection with its user and activities involved to develop and produce effective and well thought out solutions to design problems. Developing a 3 dimensional design thinking for suitable purpose and function of the new form derived from the experimenting of the selected material. Creating spaces for new design which tend to mimic its surroundings also combining the ideas and aspiration to create a new design.
PROJECT 3: A (LIVE) CAPSULE
The study is to understand the concept of a compact space designed with multiple function and interaction. Creativity in designing the retail essential must relate to the final keywords from the 1st project for shape and aesthetic value. Students will participate in the interior architecture, branding and idea design of this new retail outlet. It has been crafted to be flexible and adaptable according to various locations and with a small budget, the client will end up with a truly attractive mobile business establishment that can be easily modulated according to the various locations. Application of project 1& 2 of colour and material is essential to the success of this project.
