PROJECT 1 :

 APPLICATION OF ARCHITECTURAL & STRUCTURAL MATERIALS

     Its a project about choosing 1 among the given famous architects, write down their history, how they used the materials in their buildings also required to find 5 architectural materials and 2 structural materials used by the architect in their buildings. to study the ideas and concept behind the selection of the materials. it was from any time span of the architect. The compilation of the findings was to be composed in 2 A2 boards including the following requirements

  1. Background of the architect.

  2. Background of the building.

  3. Clear images and info of the 5 architectural materials and 2 structural materials used respectively.

  4. Relevant images of the building floor layouts, elevations, 3d perspectives.

  5. Overall conclusion of the choices and application of materials in the building.

PROJECT 2 :

BUILDING ELEMENTS CONSTRUCTION DETAILING

     The assignment emphasize on producing connection detailing of building elements on a superstructure which include floor, wall, door, window, staircase, and roof. The task is to find a floor plan and a section drawing of a post and beam structured building that does not exceed two-store high. The building can be made from any of the following such as concrete, masonry, steel or timber. Need to be draw manually on the building’s details on A2 size tracing butter papers. Physical model is also required. The following are the requirements for Assignment 2:

  1. Floor plan

  2. Section

  3. Connection detailing of a) floor and wall and b) roof and wall

  4. Door details which include plan view, section and elevation.

  5. Window details which include plan view, section and elevation.

  6. Staircase details which include plan view, section and elevation.

  7. Physical model of one connection detailing from (a) or (b)

PROJECT 3 : FINAL EXAMINATION 

    The compilation of all we had done through out the semester consisting of 30% of the whole subject. This is to test the understanding of the knowledge we acquire in architectural and structural elements and materials in depth.
