PROJECT OUTCOME

     Community Service is a learning service learning basically using curriculum to help the students to connect with their community by showing care and concern about other people in the community. In the process of you recognizing and taking steps to meet the needs of others, it enhance your creative, critical and reflective skills. It helps to develop personal and social responsibility also have the opportunity to use your skills and knowledge in real-life situations. the module its designed to

  1. To inculcate a sense of social responsibility in the students.

  2. To promote the culture of caring and respect towards all members of society. 

  3. To understand the community around them. 

  4. To understand themselves in relation to their community

PHASE 1 : PLANNING PROPOSAL + BUDGET

     This tasks was divided into 6 groups were as i was in group 2 in which we were 20 of us dealing with neighborhood and surroundings of the area. The work was being split into 3 ways where 5 among us had to deal with the drainage system, other 5 were dealing with the stair case and the remaining 10 had to deal with the external wall which this included painting it and creating a design pattern and color scheme conducive for the kids to study and feel at ease. i was assign to help out with color scheme and price research for the materials needed to get the job done. 

     

     I was assigned to work on the wall design and colors choice for the wall. we had to change the first design as we were told they were not effective as for kids they love bright colors so we had to go with yellow for the outside walls which will make the kids happy and also because the place its a bit dark so the bright color will bring joy around the area.

PHASE 2 : TRANSFORMATION

     This was when we had to go to the site where the actual work its supposed to be done. i was among the 5 people working on the staircase side. Its a fun activity and being helpful at the same time which is noble and helps enhance our capability in eradicating some problems in our society and helping others reach their goals.

     The day we had to go to Kg orang asli in serendah, everyone was assigned to different kind of work for that particular day as others had to clean  the drainage and cleaning. I was assigned to paint the outside walls of the library, painting the stairs and also cleaning the bush which was in front of the library. it was a long day with remarkable output as we got to get the job done then went back home. the team work and efforts were pleasant were as lunch was also provided for us during the afternoon time. Our team was lead by Leon kok under the supervision of Miss Nasir our Community service initiative lecturer.

PHASE 3 : E-PORTFOLIO

     After the completion of the project by the end of the semester we were to compose a compilation of everything we did from the starting of the semester in an E-portfolio which was being graded for our final marks. also giving a reflection about the project of what we had gain from it and how it made us feel in the process of making a difference.
