PROJECT 1 

CONTEXTUAL ARCHITECTURE STUDY

     The project its about choosing 1 architectural building in Asia and investigate through the observations and readings about contemporary contextual architectural buildings built from 1990 till current practices and issues in Asia. The selected buildings must show analysis conducted on its contextual architectural elements which includes

  1. Space organization and access hierarchy.

  2. Sky line compression and height.

  3. Features related from the building.

  4. Building materials and systems.

  5. Image making elements.

  6. Dimensions of history and social memories. 

     Need to show findings and analysis in the form of printed A2 visual presentation including appropriate visual communications design and clarity of information.​

PROJECT 2 

RESEARCH IN ASIAN ARCHITECTURE

  1.      As a group of 7 people, we were supposed to identify and confirm a building from project 1. We were supposed to expand the study of the building by undertaking one of the directions below

  • Context-sensitive architectural design methods and techniques.

  • Role of contextual architecture in community building and place-making.

  • Environmental and climatic response of contextualized vernacular or traditional architecture in contemporary design.

  • Potential contextual architectural solutions to cultural/ environmental sustainability challenges.

   2.     After choosing we were supposed to conduct literature reviews, to identify specific issues of the study and define specific scope of the study. you are required to generate a good research tittle that reflects the intentions of the research within the frame work of the selected research area. We were to produce a poster for visual presentations of our findings. the use of relevant architecture designs in Asia to support the discussion and arguments.

PROJECT 3 : MID-TERM EXAMINATION

     Exam for mid terms consisting of some chapters of the course which its 20% of the whole course. The questions will be provided based on the lecture slides given to us online this is to increase architectural theory vocabulary and enhance the understanding of the subject in general.
