PROJECT 1 : EXPLORE & EXPRESS
MADE - TO - ORDER
-
Its a project based on exploring objects, materials, inspiration and ideation in which we are supposed to make an interactive wall design which will be placed in the container shop.
-
This was an task given to us gathering required information to explore and analyse the characteristics of the materials to conduct experiments in order to understand the material fully with its characteristics in depth. We were required to choose an inspiring architect who uses the raw materials at its best to make a new form in their architectural work. identify the key works vital showing design elements and character of the composition using basic design principles such as line and volume.
-
The outcome of the finding will be presented in an interactive wall display as the method for submission.
-
The wall display dimensions were 3000mm (L) x 1000mm (W) x 2400mm (H). The submission requirement was
-
A2 idea mounted on foam board landscape
-
1 3D model with scale 1:10
-
1 500mm thick base MDF board or frame
PROJECT 2 : WHAT A RELIEF
DEPTH IN DESIGN
-
Within a range of [1] A3 size landscape or portrait frame, we were supposed to produce a relief model best suiting your idea. Some of the ideas were a tunnel book, perspective, section and section perspective.
-
I chose to make a section relief model which was based best on my idea, knowledge and skills to produce.
-
We were supposed to understand the spatial depth, light and shades for shape perception and lighting is used as a design strategy to reveal interior architectural form.
-
Showing the relationship between interior and exterior architectural spacing configuration luminance distribution patterns, time and perceived spatial depth.
PROJECT 3 : A[LIVE] CAPSULE
TEA, COFFEE OR ME?
-
Its a project based in choosing a brand you want to make either tea or coffee and also design a container shop for that particular brand in a unique way.
-
The design identifies and differentiate several functions of spaces through design such as functional needs, personal space/privacy needs and public/communal needs.
-
The container design its located in sekeping serendah, Rawang.
-
It also provide a compact living for a human being.
-
The container unit should provide entrance/gallery, window/wall display, Food and beverage preparation area, consumption area, utilities and individual proposed area.
-
My design was based on a tea container shop named HIB HIB SHOP which offers a unique taste of hibiscus tea and half cake as dessert. the container design also offers a variety of other activities such as star gazing and dancing.
-
The space provides a 20 foot and 40 foot containers for the design process.
-
40 foot container - 12000mm [l] x 2400mm [w] x 2850mm [h].
-
20 foot container- 6000mm [l] x 2400mm [w] x 2850mm [h].
The picture below show the final presentation consisting of project 1, 2 and 3 in general. we had to present our projects and ideas to an outside guest panel which was quit fascinating as we elaborated the flo of of of ideas and how our work came to completion.
E-PORTFOLIO
As for the last project we were required to put together compilation of projects completed throughout current semester and freehand sketches on process and thoughts to be included in the folder & Online blog (e-portfolio).
SUMMARY
In conclusion, the project helped us in many ways such as gave us a different perspective on how we look at things. It broaden our minds and hearts to expand and knowing more about the subject as it paves way to our future career. The creativity, hard work and time made us to be keen and sharpened our mind also at times we had to work in group as you get to help each other out and pitch different kind of ideas which helps us with our project. The lectures were helpful as they also supported our work and gave us the ideas to develop so as to make a remarkable and spectacular design. This helped us to understand the principles of design and innovations as some of the designs came out tremendous which surprised our lecturers.
